Overview
Turn an individual workflow into a team capability.
After using AI-assisted workflows to accelerate client prototyping, I saw an opportunity to make the process repeatable for other designers.
I translated my workflow into training materials, step-by-step guidance, and live Design Huddles that helped designers move from concept to interactive prototype more quickly.
The opportunity
The tools were changing faster than the team's workflow.
AI could accelerate production, but simply giving designers access to new tools wasn't enough.
The real challenge was creating a process that felt:
Practical
Designers needed to see where AI genuinely saved time.
Repeatable
The workflow had to work beyond one successful experiment.
Approachable
People needed enough guidance to try it themselves without becoming dependent on technical expertise.
What I created
Teach the workflow, not just the tool.
I documented the process step by step and used a real prototype as the teaching example.
The material covered how to:
Move from design intent into working UI
Use AI-generated code as a starting point
Refine output rather than accepting it blindly
Bring the final experience back into the design workflow
I then led internal Design Huddles to walk designers through the process, answer questions, and demonstrate where human design judgment was still essential.
Impact
A faster way to make ideas tangible.
The initiative turned an individual experiment into a reusable team workflow and gave other designers a practical entry point into AI-assisted prototyping.
Rather than positioning AI as a replacement for design, the framework showed how it could reduce repetitive production work while preserving design ownership.
